We are always looking to recruit new members, but this is some of the lot we have for 2024.
Disclaimer: The individuals themselves selected the ratings displayed on the player profiles below. As a result, if you are an opposition player and meet and play against them in a match, this may not be a true reflection of their actual ability and skill. Ah, the player profiles. The digital equivalent of a dating profile, except instead of listing your love of long walks on the beach and your affinity for rom-coms, you get to rate your own Crown Green bowling skills.
But be warned, dear reader, these ratings may not be entirely accurate. There are three types of people when it comes to player profiles.
First, there are those who inflate their scores higher than a hot air balloon. They believe they’re the second coming of David Bryant and want everyone to know it. They’ll proudly proclaim their supposed mastery of the game and may even try to intimidate their opponents with their inflated ratings. These are the players who class themselves as “semi-pro” talking to their friends and work colleagues when they’ve barely even picked up a ball. You know who you are.
Some players are masters of deception. These are the ones who’ll say things like, “I’m not very good, but I’ll give it a go,” or “Oh, don’t worry about me; I’m only a beginner.” They’ll give themselves a rating so low it’s practically subterranean, all in the hopes of luring their opponents into a false sense of security. But then they’ll whip out a move that would make even the most seasoned pro blush.
At long last, we have arrived at the holy grail of player ratings: the accurate one. These players are the ones who know themselves inside and out. They’ve got a handle on their strengths, their weaknesses, and everything in between. They’re like a well-oiled machine, ready to take on any challenge.
So, the next time you’re perusing those player profiles, take them with a large pinch of salt. After all, Crown Green bowling is a game of surprises. You never know who might turn out to be a natural and who might end up in the beck trying to retrieve their ball.
But let’s not forget even the most accurate rating is just a snapshot in time. Players improve, they regress, and they have good days and bad. So, while it’s nice to have a general idea of what you’re up against, don’t get too caught up in the numbers. At the end of the day, it’s all about the love of the game and the camaraderie that comes with it.

We have tried to include profiles for all players, but unfortunately, some may be missing from the page. This may be because some members are hibernating, cruising around the world on an extended holiday, or fear being associated with this motley crew will ruin their chances of ever getting picked for Yorkshire.
We will hopefully continue to add more player profiles as the season progresses.
